Outdoor Education

During their time at Riversdale School all children experience education outside the classroom.

Junior children go on day trips to local areas such as Arrowtown, the beach, or the butterfly house in Dunedin.  These support learning programmes.

 

From Year 5 on children are given the opportunity to go away on school camps.  Our school camps encourage relationship building as well as independence and responsibility.  The camps take place around our beautiful provinces of Otago and Southland and involve physical activities such as hiking, biking, skiing, water sports, abseiling and a variety of learning activities about the history or environment.
